Wednesday – Electro House Remix 09/11/2011. Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (Van O remix)

Wednesday’s Child is Glitchy.

Its funny when people nowadays say that music isn’t as good as it was back in the day because there are so many good classics we listen to and so much new trash out. Thats the funny part, in our every day gloss of the past we tend not to realize that there was a ton of terrible music back in the day too. It’s only the classics we listen to now that made the cut, the rest will lie dormant waiting for a DJ to pick it up and chop it up, hello Boney M and Duck Sauce

Having said that, the golden age of Motown was pretty sweet, back in the days when Detroilet wasn’t getting crapped on. I’d like to think this song was dedicated to my country’s most famous person Sir Edmond Hillary, and if its not then damnit I am.

A young up and coming DJ from Washington D.C., Van O decided to take this classic and make it the way Marvin Gaye intended to be (truth be told, he was huuuuge into glitch electro, but his managers were sticklers to soul, forever suppressing his real talent). It’s not too heavy and takes the best from the original with great energy. Perfect for a rainy day when you are supposed to be painting the fence.
